Description
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a perennial herbaceous plant with a highly branched root system. It originates from Southeast Asia and has been used in Ayurveda as a spice and medicinal plant for millennia. In 1815, curcumin was isolated from the root of the plant - the active ingredient of turmeric, which has a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. The specific yellow-orange color of the root is due to curcumin. Turmeric is a signature spice in Asian cuisine, used for flavoring and coloring, and also as a natural preservative as it protects food from spoiling in warm weather.
Turmeric is rich in vitamins C, E, K, kakato and B vitamins, manganese, iron, potassium, magnesium, fiber, etc.
Indian Turmeric contains curcuminoids - active substances that have a proven healing effect: speeding up metabolism, reducing bad cholesterol, balancing blood sugar and insulin. Turmeric contributes to the proper functioning of the liver and bile. They filter toxins in the body and need special support. Turmeric offers it to them. It helps the better division and renewal of liver cells. Curcumin's powerful anti-inflammatory abilities make this wonderful potion very strong against tissue inflammation. It is also very useful in arthritic and rheumatoid diseases. It relieves pain and stiffness in the joints by restoring freedom of movement.
