STEAMED ASPARAGUS
• 2 min. read
Because of the simple way of preparation, you can use this recipe many times. Steamed (or raw) asparagus has amazing cleansing properties. They assist the liver in its healing process, making them a key part of the Healing Medium's Original 3:6:9 Cleanse . Asparagus calms a stressed and sick liver by instantly boosting its immune system, helping protect the rest of your body.
This recipe is part of the 3:6:9 cleanses of the Healing Medium and is included in the recipes of the book "Cleansing for Health" . Other recipes from these cleanses can be found on our blog as well as in Anthony William's books .
Ingredients:
1/2 kg. asparagus, with ends cut off.
Method of preparation:
Cover the bottom of a medium saucepan with 4-5 inches of water, bring to a boil and add a steamer basket. Place the asparagus in the basket, cover and steam for 6-9 minutes, depending on the thickness of the asparagus, until tender.
Remove and serve.
Portion for 1-2 people.
ADVICES:
- If you can't find fresh asparagus, look for frozen and stock up so you have plenty on hand. Don't worry if you can only find industrially grown asparagus - its liver benefits far outweigh the disadvantages of industrial farming. You can steam them right before a meal or make them in advance and enjoy them later – cold or reheated (no butter or oil).
- If you prefer, you can eat the asparagus raw. Just wash them, cut off the ends and eat them. By the end of the 3:6:9 Cleanse, you may find yourself appreciating this rejuvenating vegetable more than ever!
