STEAMED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
• 2 min. read
Like asparagus, Brussels sprouts are a key element of the Healer Medium's Original 3:6:9 Cleanse . It contains sulfur, which has the ability to loosen hardened cells of inherited toxins in the liver, adhere to them, and safely remove them from the body. Even if it's not yet one of your favorite foods, over time you'll find that you like steamed Brussels sprouts more and more, and you'll start consuming them for more than just its extraordinary healing properties.
This recipe is part of the 3:6:9 cleanses of the Healing Medium and is included in the recipes of the book "Cleansing for Health" . Other recipes from these cleanses can be found on our blog as well as in Anthony William's books .
Ingredients:
- 1 kg. Brussels sprouts.
Method of preparation:
Wash the Brussels sprouts in cold water. Remove any brown leaves and with a sharp knife remove only the top part of the base. Cut it in half.
Add 4-5 inches of water to a medium saucepan, bring to a boil and add a steamer basket. Place the Brussels sprouts in the basket, cover and steam for 6-8 minutes or longer, depending on size, until tender.
Remove and serve.
Portion for 1-2 people.
ADVICE:
- As with asparagus, if you don't have fresh Brussels sprouts available, look for them in the frozen food section and stock up so you have plenty on hand. Don't worry if you can only find industrially grown Brussels sprouts – their liver benefits far outweigh the disadvantages of industrial farming. You can prepare it and eat it right away or make it in advance and enjoy it later - cold or reheated (without butter or oil).
