GREEN SMOOTHIE

GREEN SMOOTHIE

This simple smoothie is a quick and easy way to get enough leafy greens without having to make a big salad. A banana or mango not only adds sweetness to this smoothie, but also provides the necessary glucose that transports the nutrients from the green leafy vegetables to where they are needed in the body.

Bananas contain important life-sustaining trace elements such as manganese, selenium, copper, boron and molybdenum, as well as large amounts of minerals such as potassium, which is one of the most critical nutrients for neurotransmitter function.

Mangoes are great for stress relief and protection against viruses, and are also rich in beta-carotene to strengthen and maintain the skin. Mango is even a useful means of preventing all types of skin cancer.

Green leafy vegetables, such as spinach and romaine lettuce, help with intestinal disorders. They help create a more alkaline stomach by increasing the levels of beneficial hydrochloric acid, which in turn destroys the unproductive bacteria that create bad heartburn and other forms of acid reflux. They help reduce Helicobacter pylori, which is often responsible for stomach ulcers.
