BLACK ELDER SYRUP

The recipe for black elderberry syrup that we want to share with you is made with only natural products, it is easy to prepare and it is very healing. How to make black elderberry syrup?

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup dried elderberry;
  • 3 cups of water;
  • 3/4 cup raw honey.

Seasonings of choice:

  • 1 cinnamon stick ;
  • 1 whole star anise;
  • ¼ tsp. whole stalks of cloves.

Method of preparation:

Place the dried elderberries and water (with optional spices) in a medium saucepan on the stove. Simmer over medium heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until thickened and reduced by half. Remove and cool completely. Strain the syrup through a strainer into a bowl, squeezing the juice from the fruit with a wooden spoon and discarding the whole spices. Mix the syrup with the raw honey and pour into jars.

To maintain health, consume 1 tbsp. per day. For a cold or flu, take 1 tbsp. 3 times a day.

Quantity for 1-2 cups.
