Our Pets Health

Our Pets Health

Just like people, our pets can face a number of health problems throughout their lives. Whether your pet is suffering from a neurological condition, cancer, thyroid issues, bad breath, or something else, there are steps you can take to support and improve their health. In this article, Anthony William shares how he raises his pets and gives us tips on what we can do to ensure better health for our four-legged friends.

Providing support

There are a number of health issues that you should be aware of as a pet owner. Working with a compassionate and understanding veterinarian is critical. Some people choose a holistic vet, while others prefer a more conventionally minded vet. Many veterinarians today seem to practice a combination of allopathic and holistic ideas. Find someone you like and respect.

Therapeutic companions

If you have a pet in your life, you probably already know in your heart and soul that they are wonderful therapeutic companions. Whether it's a dog, cat, bird, horse, rabbit, or other cute animal, your pet can help you heal:

  • Pets stimulate your immune system and can play a role in treating diseases and ailments.
  • Your natural killer cells can become more sensitive when you are around your pets.
  • Your platelets are also sensitive, and a pet in your life can positively stimulate platelet production if you're struggling with low platelets.
  • A pet can help your adrenals calm down and balance.

Yes, there are temporary and rare times when you will experience frustration with your pet. But these stressors are outweighed by the countless times your pet brings healing to your adrenals, immune system, and more.

If you don't have a pet, but scratch the back of your neighbor's dog or pet your friend's cat, you're still boosting your immune system. Just touching or briefly cuddling an animal can cause positive reactions in the body.

Cysts, tumors and nodules

Many animals develop cysts, tumors and nodules during their lives. Lipomas, which are fatty tumors, can become quite large in both cats and dogs. Small, tentacle-like roots emerge from the tumor in search of food. Therefore, if you feed your animals toxic foods that feed the lipoma, its roots will attract those foods and it will continue to grow. Eliminating certain toxic foods from your pet's diet can stop lipoma growth.

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are particularly problematic fuel for lipomas and can cause aggressive growth, so try to keep your pet's food GMO-free if possible. If your pet has serious problems with lipomas, a grain-free diet is ideal. If you can only afford to feed your pet food that contains some non-productive ingredients, don't stress. We know you are doing the best you can.

Adding these supplements to your pet's daily regimen can help prevent and slow the growth of lipomas:

Hot spots

If your pet scratches a lot and gnaws its fur in certain places, it may be suffering from hot spots. Usually, hot spots are a reaction to something in the animal's food. Try switching your pet's food to a better one, but know that it may take six to eight weeks to notice changes. If after this period you do not notice any difference, try changing your pet's food a second time. Then reassess and if you still don't see changes, change the food a third time.

Often junk food, such as food with fillers or other non-productive ingredients, plays a role in the development of hot spots. Changing the food, even if it's clean and healthy, can help break the cycle of hot spots and shedding. Introducing vitamin C into your pet's daily routine can help with wound healing.

Urinary tract infections and dental problems

Helping your pet recover from a urinary tract infection can be challenging, and chronic urinary tract infections can be especially painful for the animal.

  • Vitamin C is an important preventative measure that builds your pet's immune system.
  • Olive leaf is another powerful supplement.
  • Pau d'arco is a great aid for PPIs and helps with dental problems.
  • A small dose of propolis can be helpful for urinary tract infections (UTIs), dental problems, and gum infections.
  • Adding small amounts of fresh oregano and parsley to your pet's food can also help with PPIs.

Heart problems

If your pet suffers from heart disease or vascular problems, it is extremely important to provide coenzyme Q10 and vitamin C. From there, work with your holistic veterinarian to find out what specific supplements your pet needs.

How Anthony William takes care of his dogs

Below we will share with you some things that Anthony William does to take care of his dogs. We hope this information gives you some new ideas and insights, no matter what type of pet you own. Consult your veterinarian about which practices would be best for your pet.

Raw food

Anthony William has been feeding raw meat, vegetables and fruit to every dog he's had since childhood. More than thirty years ago, this was considered reckless and dangerous. Fortunately, in recent years this diet has become extremely popular. Raw food and dehydrated raw food are now on pet store shelves, and almost all conventional and holistic vets praise this diet.

His dogs have always had good results from eating raw home-raised meat. Try to avoid factory-produced meat and stick to high-quality varieties whenever possible. Instead of buying ground meat, choose whole cuts of raw meat – they usually contain less bacteria.

We have already mentioned the seven acids that make up hydrochloric acid in the stomach. This mixture is unique to humans. Dogs have their own mixture, which is made up of twenty acids, and cats have a similar combination. Scientific research has not yet discovered the truth about the hydrochloric acid mixtures in our stomach.

If your pet is a carnivore, they may really enjoy and benefit from raw meat bones. Especially amazing is their bone marrow, which is full of minerals perfect for dogs, cats and other carnivorous pets. The mineral composition in these bones can make a difference in your pet's health. You can always consult your veterinarian if you wish to feed your pets raw bones and meat.

If you have always fed your pet cooked meat and vegetables, but have never experienced food-related health problems, you can definitely continue to provide your pet with cooked food (except for cooked bones). Sweet potatoes can be a particularly good option for cooked vegetables. If health problems do occur, you can try feeding him raw food.

Homemade meals

In addition to raw meat, Anthony William gives his dogs homemade food. Around noon, she purées them by throwing an apple and two stalks of celery into the food processor for each dog. I also often add some barley grass juice powder and some vitamin B12 with methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin .

She also tries to include wild blueberries in her dogs' food every day. He often grinds a bowl of frozen wild blueberries into their porridge for lunch. Sprinkling a little flax meal or chia seed meal in your dog's food will help protect his immune system (note that too much of either seed can cause bloat).

At dinner, Anthony William gives his dogs larger raw bones containing bone marrow and scraps of meat on them. It allows them to chew on the bones a bit, tear off some meat and lick off some of the marrow. Then he pushes the rest of the bone with his thumb and gives it to them. He tries to make sure they don't nibble too much of the bone because it can be a problem if they accidentally swallow a large piece.

Add fruit

Fruits are extremely beneficial for your health and the health of your pet. Whether you have a puppy or an adult dog, try to give your pet a few different pieces of fruit, such as bananas, papayas, berries, apples and pears, whenever you can.

Berries can help support your pet's nervous system, prevent and stop the growth of lipomas, and help prevent and reverse the development of cancers. The antioxidants in fruit will support your pet's immune system and just a little fruit every day can do wonders for your pet's health!

Include vegetables

Anthony William's dogs also eat vegetables. They also like to nibble on celery stalks, which is an herb, and each one eats about four to five stalks a day. He gives them a few vegetables after the morning meal of beef and again in the afternoon after they have eaten bones with marrow. Cucumber is another favorite snack of theirs.

It's okay for your dog or cat to eat some grass if they go outside, as long as you don't spray your yard with dangerous chemicals or live in a municipality that does. You may even want to grow a wheatgrass bed indoors for your cat. Sometimes when dogs and cats are feeling sick or unwell, they try to eat a large amount of grass in an attempt to induce vomiting, but this can actually lead to a dangerous blockage in your pet's intestinal tract. Try to prevent eating too much grass outside. Notify your veterinarian if your pet overdoes the grass outside.

An amazing way to bring green into your pet's life is to add some barley grass juice powder to their food.

Cereals for pets

If your only choice is between a low-quality GMO dog food that contains fillers, by-products and chemicals, and a homemade dog food that contains grains, we would recommend the homemade dog food, even if it contains grains. You can combine cooked brown rice with some sweet potatoes, squash, broccoli, or celery stalks and make a meal that's significantly better than store-bought GMO food. However, if you can provide grain-free food options, that's ideal. Anthony William strives to keep his dogs on a grain-free diet, but there are animals that are grain-dependent—it's important to consider your unique pet when creating a nutritional plan.

Cats, Dogs and Veganism

Some people feed their dogs or cats a vegan diet. This type of diet can be helpful in the short term if you are trying to reverse a disease, but along with a vegan diet it is extremely important to provide a wild salmon oil supplement. Because cats and dogs are carnivores, they cannot thrive on a simple vegan diet.

Deficiencies and nutritional supplements

It is essential to address any deficiencies your pet may have. Consider:

  • Ambaya Gold's Pet Health+™ is a great multivitamin that helps reduce deficiencies.
  • SeaMeal™ - an algae-based supplement that provides your pet with some important vitamins and minerals.
  • Barley grass juice powder sprinkled into daily meals to help address deficiencies.
  • Vitamin B12 with methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin can make a positive difference in your pet's health and is especially important if your pet suffers from neurological or nervous system problems. Just a few drops can help, although if your pet is larger, a few more drops may be beneficial.
  • Vitamin C can help with a number of health problems, including neurological and central nervous system problems.
  • A drop or two of high-quality zinc can be beneficial for animals, especially those with thyroid disorders. Thyroid disease in animals is similar to thyroid disease in humans.
  • Glucosamine and chondroitin, although there is not much evidence to support serious joint problems and arthritis in humans, can be very helpful in animals.
  • According to Anthony William, MSM with silicon and calcium also works even more effectively in pets than in humans.
  • Rescue Remedy's alcohol-free tincture is helpful in keeping pets calm and cool.

Foods to avoid

There are some foods that pets should not eat:

  • Grapes contain a phytochemical that is toxic to dogs.
  • Some avocado varieties, such as those grown in the West Indies and the larger avocado varieties found in Florida, are not safe for your pet. (A regular Hass avocado is fine).
  • Macadamia nuts should not be given to dogs or cats.
  • Chocolate is poisonous to dogs and cats.
  • Tinctures that contain alcohol should be avoided unless you only have them.

How to move forward

Our pets mean so much to us. Some people describe their pet as their baby, child or best friend. Our animals are some of our closest companions and have been by our side through the best and worst moments of our lives.

It is important to take care of your pets and ensure their health, but it is also important to maintain your own health so that your pets can have the healthiest and most vibrant parent possible.
