Cilantro Chutney
• 2 min. read
This fresh and flavorful coriander chutney is a great way to incorporate more of the healing and cleansing properties of this green herb into your diet. You can use it as a dip, toss it on salads, as a condiment in one of Healer Medium's burger and sandwich recipes, or just eat it plain, right off the spoon!
Ingredients:
- 4 tsp. tightly packed coriander leaves, coarsely chopped;
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice;
- 2 tablespoons raw honey or 2 Medjool dates, pitted;
- 2-3 cm piece of ginger, coarsely chopped;
- 3 cloves of garlic;
- 1 tsp ground cumin ;
- 1/2 tsp sea salt (optional);
- 1/4-1/2 tsp cayenne pepper ;
- 1-2 tbsp water, if needed for mixing.
Method of preparation:
Combine all ingredients except water in a food processor and blend until smooth, scraping down sides of blender as needed. If necessary, add water to help blend ingredients together. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
Tips:
Although high-quality sea or rock salt is not a required part of this recipe, the recipe is more healing without salt. Over time, you may wish to reduce or eliminate the salt.
Serving size for 4 people.
