The truth about inflammation

Inflammation is a term you've probably heard a lot. "You have inflammation," your doctor might say when you report joint pain, a rash, or strange aches and pains. But inflammation is actually a "lazy term" because inflammation is only the result of a deeper problem. Inflammation is not an answer - it is an indicator that something else is going on in the body.

The two causes of inflammation

The C-reactive protein test and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR or sed rate) test simply let doctors know that inflammation is present. Doctors can use these tests to find that you have inflammation and give you a diagnosis, but the tests cannot reveal the cause of the inflammation or provide enough answers to help you heal.

The plasma viscosity (PV) test, the IgA and IgG tests , and the antinuclear antibody (ANA) test can help reveal the inflammation in your body, but again, they won't give you an idea of ​​the real cause. This is because the tests are not yet sufficiently advanced and because the true causes of chronic diseases are unknown to the medical community.

Blood liver enzymes and other similar tests, some of which are still being developed, also only identify inflammation.

Supportive foods and nutritional supplements

When trying to fight inflammation, the more anti-inflammatory foods you can get into your diet, the better. One of the main reasons they are anti-inflammatory is that they kill the pathogens responsible for so much inflammation.
