MEDICINAL BROTH

Healing Broth is a powerful, mineral-rich liquid that carries the essence of vital vegetables, herbs and spices in a way that is easy for the body to digest, absorb and use. The broth will have a soothing and nourishing effect on you. The ingredients in this simple recipe help provide tremendous healing benefits for both body and soul.

Carrots help lower blood pressure, reduce swelling, relax muscles, stabilize nerves and balance cognitive functions. Onions and garlic have powerful antiviral and antibiotic properties and can help flush heavy metals and parasites from the body.

Parsley and shiitake mushrooms contain an excellent bioavailable form of iron that helps maintain strong blood and prevent anemia, and are also rich in zinc, which is extremely useful for treating viral problems and strengthening the immune system. Ginger and turmeric root help reduce inflammation and improve liver function. They also help keep your hair growing strong and keep your skin healthy and vibrant.

This incredibly healing broth can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Simply heat only what you need and place in the thermos for warm sips throughout the day. This broth has the miraculous ability to be healing, cleansing and nourishing at the same time and is a great addition to any healthy regimen.

Frequently asked questions about healing broth

What is the best way to use the medicinal broth - as a strained broth or with the vegetables in it?

This recipe provides great healing benefits when consumed as a broth or with the vegetables still in it. However, for the greatest medicinal benefits, it is best consumed as a strained broth without the whole vegetables. If you decide to consume it as a broth, you can enjoy the vegetables at other times of the day. If you leave the vegetables in the broth, you will still get many of the healing benefits of this recipe.

How much medicinal broth should I consume per day?

You can use as much medicinal broth as you like. A good amount is about one to two cups a day or as often as possible.

Is healing broth helpful if I have a cold or flu?

Yes! Strained healing broth (without the whole vegetables) is a perfect recipe to sip when you have a cold or flu. You can drink plenty of this strained broth along with fresh fruit and vegetable juices to help you recover.

Can I add other ingredients to the healing broth?

You can add other vegetables, herbs, and sea vegetables of your choice, such as potatoes, winter squash, burdock root, cilantro, sage, oregano, thyme, cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, dulce, kelp, arame, wakame, and more. It's best to avoid adding store-bought stock cubes, animal bones or proteins, salt, or other flavorings other than pure vegetables, herbs, seaweed, and spices.

Can I use dried ginger and turmeric instead of fresh?

Yes, if you cannot use fresh ginger, you can use half a teaspoon each of dry ginger and dry turmeric. However, fresh roots have more medicinal properties, so it is best to use fresh instead of dried whenever possible.

Can I leave out the mushrooms?

Yes, you can omit the mushrooms or choose another mushroom you like to replace the shiitake mushrooms.

Can I leave out the onions?

To be able. If you wish, you can also try another type of onion that you prefer. For example, fresh green onions, leeks or white onions. You can also increase the amount of garlic in the recipe instead of using onions if you like garlic.

Should I peel the ginger and turmeric?

No, you don't need to whiten them. This is your choice. Just be sure to wash them well if you don't bleach them.

Do the ingredients have to be organic?

The ideal option is organic ingredients, but you can also use conventional ones. If using conventional ingredients, clean them well.

Can I put pieces of fresh vegetables in my broth?

To be able. When the broth is ready, you can strain the pieces along with the rest of the vegetables and drink only the liquid for maximum benefit.

Can I mix the broth with the vegetables to make a soup?

Yes, if you don't strain the broth, you can puree the soup to make it smooth or eat it with whole vegetables.

How long does broth last in the fridge?

In the refrigerator, it will keep for about five to seven days.

Can I freeze the broth?

Yes, you can make a large batch of the broth and freeze it for later use.

At what time of day is it best to consume the broth?

Like herbal tea, you can enjoy the strained broth at any time of the day.
