This delicious mulled wine recipe is alcohol-free but full of flavor. Although grapes are shunned because of their high sugar content, we should think about it. It is this sugar content in grapes that helps revitalize the liver. It is a true longevity food that increases the liver's efficiency in every one of its more than 2,000 chemical functions. The fruit acid unique to grapes is a great gallstone dissolver – think about that the next time you eat a grape instead of worrying about whether it has too much sugar or will make you gain weight. Ingredients:
- 2 cups of red grape juice;
- 3 cups of cranberry juice;
- 1/2 cup of water;
- 2 cinnamon sticks ;
- 2 star anise;
- 10 whole cloves;
- 3 cardamom pods, slightly crushed;
- 3 thick slices of orange;
- 2-3 tbsp. maple syrup (optional).
Method of preparation:
Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes until the flavors have blended. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes, then strain through a sieve and divide into glasses. Serve immediately.
Portion for 2-3 people.
